What is an electric power shower?
An electric power shower looks similar to an ordinary electric shower but works on a very different principle and can not replace a conventional electric shower. An electric power shower is designed to work in conjunction with a gravity fed hot water system IE a hot water system that has an immersion heater/tank and boiler.
This type of shower cannot be fitted in your home if you have a combination boiler that supplies your hot water as the shower requires a gravity fed hot and cold water supply and cannot be supplied from the mains pressure supply pipes.
This type of shower dose not heat its own water supply and relies on the stored hot water in the immersion tank, if the shower is used frequently then they tend to use all the stored hot water and the shower can run cold. If you plan to buy an electric power shower, then have a plumber check that your hot water system is suitable for the purpose.
